Accessibility Statement for Nurtureuk
Nurtureuk website
We want everyone who visits the nurtureuk website to feel welcome and find the experience rewarding. We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website and in doing so adhere to many of the available standards and guidelines.
What are we doing?
To help us make the nurtureuk website a positive place for everyone, we've been using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and user friendly for everyone. The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA and AAA). We’ve chosen Level AA as the target for the nurtureuk website.
How are we doing?
We've worked hard on the nurtureuk website and aim to be compliant with Level AA accessibility. The website can be navigated using a keyboard, uses strong colour contrast, and can be read using a screen reader. In order to be as compliant as possible, we are working on the following improvements during this review period:
- Ensuring all images include alternative text
- Ensuring all video content includes subtitles or transcripts
- Improving the colour contrast where needed
Longer term, we will look to make all PDFs accessible for screen readers, but this will require specialist support.
We monitor the website regularly to maintain this, but if you do find any problems, please get in touch.
Let us know what you think
If you enjoyed using the nurtureuk website, or if you had trouble with any part of it, please get in touch by emailing us at [email protected]
Additional nurtureuk platforms
We are working on our additional platforms to ensure they are accessible to all users. Some of our platforms enable users to adjust the accessibility to suit their own needs, and for additional advice on how to make your device easier to use if you have a disability, please visit AbilityNet.
Boxall Profile® Online
The Boxall Profile® Online platform is currently being designed to meet the same level of standards as the nurtureuk website, using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. If you experience any issues with the platform or would like to provide feedback, please email [email protected]
Thinkific
Our courses are supported by additional materials hosted on the Thinkific platform. All recorded resources are accompanied by a text transcript. We are working towards ensuring accessibility across all of our learning resources, and further information about Thinkific’s accessibility can be found on their website.
Zoom
The majority of our training courses are delivered over Zoom, which enables delegates to customise the font size of the chat and auto-generated captions. Delegates can also control Zoom using keyboard shortcuts, and use Zoom alongside a screen reader. For more information on Zoom’s accessibility, please visit their website.
Physical training materials
For many of our training courses, delegates will receive a hard copy of the training materials, including workbooks. The materials are designed with strong colour contrast and can be produced in large or giant print if required.
