Sarah is an additional needs teacher, with experience of delivering nurture interventions within primary and secondary specialist provisions. She has also worked within a residential and secure care setting using a nurturing approach.
Sarah completed the ‘Theory and Practice of Nurture Groups’ course early in her career, which was a formative experience in developing her approach to teaching & learning.
Sarah has a Master’s in Professional Practice in Education, specialising in adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), trauma and attachment-informed practice. She is author of the book ‘Creating a Trauma-informed Classroom’ which was published by Critical Publishing in 2024.
Sarah is Founder/Director of Roots & Wings Learning, a social enterprise set up to support children and young people affected by trauma by delivering interventions and training to the adults in their lives.
